Your Pet's Vaccination Is Your Duty

As a dog owner it is your duty to maintain its vaccination schedule. Quinlan Animal Clinic has been in the business of providing necessary pet care for the last 39 years and would love to be a contributor in your pet's health.

Vaccination for Puppies

DHPP is the first vaccination given to a 6-week old pup. Second and following vaccinations would be for protection against Leptospirosis. When the pup is around 12 weeks old, it should get the rabies vaccination.

It is recommended to give the vaccinations in 3-week intervals for optimum results. There is also a Bordetella vaccine that protects puppies against kennel cough but isn't a part of our standard vaccination routine.

All puppies should be given the following vaccinations-
  • Distemper virus
  • Hepatitis
  • Parvovirus
  • Parainfluenza
  • Leptospirosis
  • Bordetella
  • Rabies

Vaccination for Adult Dogs

Quinlan Animal Clinic has a policy where if your dog is brought to us with no history of vaccinations in our records, our team will administer a combined vaccine that includes distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, parainfluenza, leptospirosis, and rabies. Another booster would be given in 3-4 weeks.

If our records show a history of regular vaccinations, then your dog wouldn't need a booster vaccination. Our rabies vaccine is good for 3 years provided your dog has had the vaccination at least once.
